At Warstones we regard PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) as an important, integral component of the whole curriculum.
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring that it:
promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of our children and of society.
This is achieved through topic work and also through timetabled lessons taught by Mrs Lal in Year 1 & 2, Mrs Penfold in Year 3, 5 and 6 and Mrs Bayliss in Year 4. Throughout the year they will cover a number of topics through lessons taught every two weeks and on a 2 year rolling programme. The topics are as follows:
Back to School
Anti-Bullying
Getting on with Everyone
Dealing with Feelings
Relationships and Growing Up
Money and Me
Drug Education
Healthy Eating
Keeping Safe
These are further supplemented by visits into school from groups such as NSPCC, local Police and other emergency services, Dogs Trust and other similar groups.
