The teaching and learning of geography at Warstones Primary School aims to inspire our pupils to gain a natural curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

At Key Stage One our children will develop knowledge about the world, the United Kingdom and their locality and get to grips with basic vocabulary relating to human and physical geography.  They will begin to use geographical skills, including first-hand observation to enhance their locational awareness.

At Key Stage Two our children will extend their knowledge and understanding beyond the local area to include the United Kingdom and Europe, North and South America. This will include the location and characteristics of a range of the world’s most significant human and physical features.  They will develop their use of geographical knowledge, understanding and skills to enhance their locational and place knowledge.

The teaching and learning of geography has never been so exciting and rewarding and children at Warstones will marvel at the wonders of our world.
